Lessons on heating for students of all ages

The engineering design that went into a Canadian-made electric hearth room heater in the 1930s was probably more ingenious, unique and innovative than today’s mass produced electric fireplaces. It is just one of six examples of heating components and complete heating systems in an exhibit developed by the HVACR Heritage Centre. This Learning Object Collection exhibit for the Teachers’ Centre at the Virtual Museum of Canada is part of this documentary on “Automated Heating and Social Change.” Click the link above and add to your understanding of past heating systems and the technologies evolving to replace them.
